First Impressions

Walking into The Luxe Manor feels like stepping into an art gallery that someone decided to turn into a hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it so memorable. The lobby hits you with this bold, almost theatrical design that’s completely different from the cookie-cutter four-star hotels you’ll find elsewhere in Hong Kong. I mean, where else are you going to find furniture that looks like it belongs in a Tim Burton movie? It’s quirky without being gimmicky, and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy working in such an unconventional space.

Location & Neighborhood

You really can’t ask for a better spot in Tsim Sha Tsui — Kimberley Road puts you right in the thick of things without the chaos of Nathan Road. The Luxe Manor sits just a couple of blocks from the waterfront promenade, so you can easily walk to the Star Ferry or catch those iconic harbor views everyone talks about. What I love is that you’re also within walking distance of the Space Museum and the cultural district, plus there’s this great little dim sum place around the corner that locals actually go to. The MTR station is close enough that you won’t break a sweat getting there, which matters when it’s humid.

The Room Experience

The rooms continue that same artistic theme from the lobby, but thankfully they tone it down just enough so you can actually sleep. Each room has its own personality — some lean more Victorian gothic, others feel more contemporary surreal. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for Hong Kong standards. You know what really impressed me? The blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag and the neon lights of Tsim Sha Tsui never really turn off.

Breakfast & Amenities

The breakfast buffet is solid without being spectacular — you’ll find the usual international options plus some local touches that show they’re paying attention to where they are. The coffee is decent, and they keep the fresh fruit well-stocked, which I appreciate. There’s private parking available, which is actually a big deal in this part of Hong Kong where finding a spot can be a nightmare. The fitness center is small but functional, and the business center works well if you need to print boarding passes or catch up on emails.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to The Luxe Manor — and there are quite a few repeat guests — is that it offers something different without sacrificing comfort. Couples especially seem to love it here, probably because the unique design gives you something interesting to talk about and photograph. The location score speaks for itself, but it’s really the combination of being centrally located while still feeling like you’re staying somewhere with character that makes the difference. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Hong Kong, but it succeeds at being one of the most memorable.

Great location, didn't know what to expect when I booked the Hotel but was surprisingly happy when I got into my room. The beds are a little hard for my comfort level but others am sure will be fine with it. Rooms are serviced daily which I really liked, fresh towels that were embroidered with the hotel logo gave it a special touch of glamour. This is a boutique hotel with everything you would need.

Rooms are also nice a quiet, the check in staff very nice and always there to help.

The price was reasonable and the location was handy to many shops, restaurants, and the Metro. The decor was kind of funky if you appreciate those kinds of things. Our room was very clean and there was maid service daily. The staff helped us with printing out some travel documents.
