Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel
First Impressions
Walking into the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical airport hotel — even though you’re literally minutes from Hong Kong International Airport. The five-star property sits on Lantau Island with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views you didn’t expect to find so close to departure gates. I mean, when you think “airport hotel,” you don’t usually picture mountain vistas and waterfront scenery, but here we are. The lobby feels spacious and modern, with that polished Sheraton aesthetic that somehow manages to feel both international and distinctly Hong Kong at the same time.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what makes this place actually brilliant — you’re positioned perfectly for both convenience and exploration. The Tung Chung MTR station is right there, which means central Hong Kong is about 45 minutes away, but honestly, you might find yourself spending more time than expected just in this area. Lantau Island has this completely different vibe from the main city — there’s Ngong Ping 360 cable car nearby, plus outlet shopping at Citygate if that’s your thing. For couples especially (and the 8.6 location rating from pairs backs this up), there’s something romantic about being slightly removed from the urban intensity while still having easy access to everything.
The Rooms
The rooms here strike that sweet spot between luxury comfort and practical design. You’ll get those signature Sheraton beds that actually live up to the hype, plus workspace areas that work whether you’re catching up on emails or just need somewhere to spread out your Hong Kong shopping haul. What really got me was the bathroom setup — marble finishes and a separate shower that feels indulgent after long travel days. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the “lesser” views include glimpses of the airport bridge and South China Sea, which is honestly more interesting than it sounds.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation here is genuinely impressive — they’ve got this extensive buffet that covers Continental basics, Asian options (the congee is spot-on), American classics, and they actually handle gluten-free requests properly. You know what I appreciated? They don’t just throw together a sad gluten-free corner; there’s real thought put into it. The hotel also has parking available, which might seem minor until you realize how rare and expensive parking is in most of Hong Kong. There’s a fitness center and pool area that feels more resort-like than business hotel, probably because of those Lantau Island surroundings.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it solves the classic Hong Kong dilemma — you want luxury and convenience, but you also want to breathe a little. The 8.8 location rating from recent guests makes sense when you experience how this spot gives you the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to the airport for easy arrivals and departures, connected to the city when you want urban energy, but you’re also in this more relaxed island setting with actual nature around you. For a five-star property, it delivers on the luxury expectations without feeling stuffy or overly formal — it’s polished but approachable, which honestly reflects Hong Kong itself pretty well.
The concierge service in Hong Kong arranges Victoria Harbour helicopter loops, chef-led dai pai dong tours, and private access to gallery previews in Central.

Guest Reviews
And the facilities are great. The hotel staff are very friendly and considerate.
The amenities were top-notch, and the hotel staff were incredibly polite and helpful. A special mention goes to the front desk staff, particularly a gentleman from India who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable.
The hotel's convenience is unparalleled, with a grocery store and an Indian restaurant on site. This was a godsend for me, as an Indian traveler craving authentic Indian cuisine.
The complimentary shuttle service to the MTR station and airport was a huge bonus, making my stay super efficient and value for money.
I highly recommend staying at the Sheraton Hong Kong, Tung Chung Hotel over opting for smaller, overpriced rooms in the city center. The luxury, convenience, and exceptional service make it an unbeatable choice.
