Mira Moon
First Impressions
Walking into Mira Moon feels like stepping into a modern fairy tale — and I mean that in the best possible way. This five-star boutique hotel on Jaffe Road has this whimsical, almost theatrical design that immediately sets it apart from Hong Kong’s typical business hotels. The lobby’s dramatic lighting and contemporary art installations create an atmosphere that’s both sophisticated and playful, which honestly caught me off guard in the most delightful way.
Prime Causeway Bay Position
You really can’t beat this location in Causeway Bay. I’m talking about being right in the thick of things — Times Square is practically next door, and you’re surrounded by some of Hong Kong’s best shopping and dining. What I love most is how walkable everything is from here. The MTR station is just a few minutes away, and when you want to escape the urban intensity, Victoria Park is close enough for an early morning jog. Couples seem to particularly appreciate this spot (and honestly, I can see why — there’s something romantic about having the city’s energy right outside your door).
The Rooms
The rooms at Mira Moon continue that whimsical theme, but they’re surprisingly practical too. My room had this clever space-saving design that maximized every square inch without feeling cramped — no small feat in Hong Kong. The bed was genuinely exceptional, and I’m someone who usually struggles to sleep well in hotels. There’s something about the way they’ve balanced the playful design elements with actual comfort that really works. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with rainfall showers that feel indulgent after a long day exploring the city.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast spread here deserves a mention — it’s this interesting mix of Asian and American options served buffet-style, plus they offer halal choices which you don’t always find in Hong Kong hotels. I found myself going back for the congee most mornings, but the Western options were solid too. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM (typical hotel breakfast rush), so I’d suggest going either early or closer to 10 if you prefer a more relaxed pace.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about Mira Moon is how it manages to feel both distinctly Hong Kong and completely unique at the same time. The staff clearly takes pride in the place — you can tell by the way they talk about the hotel’s design concept and their genuine enthusiasm when giving recommendations. The fact that so many guests return here speaks volumes, and after staying here myself, I get it. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does — luxury boutique hospitality with personality in an unbeatable location — it does really well. You know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want in a city like Hong Kong.
