Walking into Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly well-appointed private residence — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and unlimited resources. This five-star property sits right on the waterfront in Hung Hom, and honestly, the harbor views hit you immediately. The lobby’s floor-to-ceiling windows frame Victoria Harbour perfectly, and you know what? The photos online don’t do it justice. There’s something about seeing those iconic Hong Kong skylines in person that makes you pause, even if you’re just checking in.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Hung Hom — it’s not Central or Tsim Sha Tsui, but that actually works in your favor. You’re close enough to everything that matters (the Star Ferry pier is literally a few minutes away), but far enough from the tourist chaos to breathe a little. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to major shopping areas, which I found surprisingly useful. Plus, there’s parking on-site if you’re brave enough to drive in Hong Kong — though honestly, you probably won’t need to.

The Room Experience

My room faced the harbor, and I spent way too much time just standing by the window watching the ferries crisscross the water. The beds here are genuinely exceptional — I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where they claim comfort, but this one delivers. Everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just expensive for the sake of it. The marble bathrooms are spacious (a real luxury in Hong Kong), and the rainfall shower actually has proper water pressure, which you can’t always count on.

What impressed me most was their rooftop pool area, which offers some of the best harbor views you’ll find anywhere in the city. The spa is tucked away on one of the upper floors, and while I only managed a quick treatment, the space itself is serene and well-designed. There’s also a solid restaurant on the ground floor that locals actually frequent, which is always a good sign.
