Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon CBD2, an IHG Hotel
First Impressions
Walking into Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon CBD2, an IHG Hotel, you immediately get that “business traveler’s dream” vibe — and I mean that in the best way possible. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Kwun Tong’s business district, which honestly surprised me with how modern and well-connected everything feels. The lobby’s clean and efficient without being sterile, and the staff actually seem to remember repeat guests (which makes sense, since this place has way more returning visitors than most hotels I’ve stayed at).
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying in Hong Kong — you’re never really far from anything, but this spot in Kwun Tong gives you that local business district energy without the tourist crowds. How Ming Street might not sound glamorous, but you’re actually perfectly positioned for both work and exploration. The MTR connections are solid, and I found myself appreciating how couples seem to really dig this area (they rate the location super highly for romantic trips, which caught me off guard at first). You know what’s nice? Walking around here feels like you’re seeing how Hong Kong actually works, not just the postcard version.
The Room Experience
The room delivers exactly what you’d expect from Holiday Inn Express — nothing fancy, but everything works perfectly. I actually appreciate how they’ve managed to fit decent storage and workspace into what could easily feel cramped. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night, and the air conditioning (crucial in Hong Kong) runs quietly. Honestly, after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, you just want a space that feels clean and functional — this nails that brief without any unnecessary frills.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The buffet breakfast is where this place really shows its value — I mean, it’s not going to win any culinary awards, but it’s substantial and gets you properly fueled for the day. They’ve got both Western and Asian options, which matters when you’re dealing with jet lag and aren’t sure what your stomach can handle. What impressed me more was how smoothly everything runs during the morning rush. The restaurant area handles the business crowd efficiently, and there’s usually parking available if you’re one of those brave souls driving in Hong Kong (though honestly, you probably don’t need a car here).
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it understands its audience perfectly — business travelers, couples exploring Hong Kong, and people who want reliable comfort without paying premium prices. The repeat guest thing isn’t just a marketing line; you can actually see it in how the staff operate and how well-maintained everything stays. Recent guests consistently rate the location highly, and after spending time here, I get why. You’re connected to the real Hong Kong while still having easy access to all the tourist spots when you want them. It’s that sweet spot between authentic local experience and traveler convenience that’s surprisingly hard to find.
Hotel in Hong Kong reservations spike during Golden Week shopping, so fashion lovers block suites months ahead.

Guest Reviews
Restaurant staff are very friendly and the buffet food are great. Hotel receptionist are good in services.
Friendly receptionist and staff, making the check in process easier.
Aside from the complimentary water cans, there’s a water dispenser in the hallway if you want to refill your bottles. The bathroom is spacious too- both the shower and toilet areas.
The room was quiet, there weren’t any noise from neighboring rooms or outside the property so we slept well.
The beds are a bit hard though, but still offered relaxation.
Room was clean.
