Harbour Plaza Resort City
First Impressions
Walking into Harbour Plaza Resort City, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical Hong Kong hotel experience. Located in Tin Shui Wai, it feels more like a resort getaway than a city stay — which is honestly refreshing when you’re looking to escape the intensity of central Hong Kong. The four-star property has this relaxed vibe that I wasn’t expecting, and the lobby’s spacious design makes you forget you’re still technically in one of the world’s busiest cities.
The Tin Shui Wai Advantage
Here’s what most people don’t realize about staying in Tin Shui Wai — you’re actually in a perfect spot for exploring the New Territories without dealing with the crowds and sky-high prices of Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. The area has this authentic local feel that couples seem to absolutely love (they rate the location 8.0, which honestly makes sense when you experience it). You’ve got wetland parks nearby, traditional markets, and easy access to both mainland China and Hong Kong Island when you want to venture out.
Room Experience
The room I stayed in was genuinely spacious by Hong Kong standards — I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without rearranging the furniture. What struck me most was how quiet everything was, especially compared to hotels in busier districts. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms look out over green spaces rather than concrete walls. The beds are comfortable, and there’s enough storage space that you won’t be living out of your suitcase for the entire stay.
Dining and Amenities
The hotel’s restaurant serves both local and international dishes, though I’d recommend venturing out to try some of the neighborhood’s dim sum places — they’re incredibly authentic and much less touristy than what you’ll find in Central. Back at the hotel, the fitness facilities are well-maintained, and there’s a decent-sized pool that actually gets some use (unlike those tiny plunge pools you see at some city hotels). The parking situation is also refreshingly stress-free, which anyone who’s driven in Hong Kong will appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the repeat guest factor — apparently more people come back here than at most other properties, and after staying here, I get why. It’s that rare combination of being far enough from the chaos to feel relaxing, but still connected enough that you’re not stranded. The staff genuinely seems to remember returning guests, which creates this unexpectedly personal atmosphere. You know what? Sometimes the best Hong Kong experience isn’t about being in the thick of everything — sometimes it’s about finding a place where you can actually unwind and still explore the city on your own terms.

Guest Reviews
Room was very spacious, both objectively and for Hong Kong.
I didn't make use of the feature, but special rooms were available for those with a habit 🚬
