EAST Hong Kong
First Impressions
Walking into EAST Hong Kong, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical four-star business hotel. The lobby feels more like a sleek urban retreat than a corporate stopover, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the harbor views beautifully. I mean, the design is modern without being cold — there’s this subtle warmth that makes you want to linger rather than rush straight to your room. The staff here genuinely seem to know what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given in busy Hong Kong.
The Taikoo Shing Advantage
Here’s what most people don’t realize about staying in Taikoo Shing — you’re actually in one of the best-connected spots on Hong Kong Island. The Taikoo MTR station is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and from there you can reach Central in about 15 minutes or Causeway Bay in just 10. What I love is that you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist chaos. The area has this lived-in feel with local eateries and shopping that you won’t find in Tsim Sha Tsui, and couples especially seem to appreciate the quieter vibe (they rate the location 9.0, which honestly makes perfect sense).
Rooms That Actually Work
The rooms here are thoughtfully designed — not just pretty to look at. You know what impressed me most? The harbor views from the higher floors are genuinely spectacular, especially at sunset when the light hits the water just right. The beds are properly comfortable (not just firm for the sake of being firm), and there’s enough space to actually unpack without feeling cramped. The bathrooms feature rain showers that have decent water pressure — something you can’t take for granted in Hong Kong hotels. Plus, the tech integration feels natural rather than gimmicky.
Breakfast Worth Getting Up For
The breakfast setup here is actually quite impressive — they do both continental and buffet options, but it’s the quality that sets it apart. The coffee is properly good (not that bitter hotel stuff), and they have both Western and Asian options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I particularly enjoyed the dim sum selection, which changes regularly and feels authentically local. The restaurant space itself has these massive windows overlooking the harbor, so even if you’re not a morning person, the views make it worthwhile.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
There’s something to be said for a hotel that has more repeat guests than most other properties — it usually means they’re doing the fundamentals right. The location really is the star here, giving you that perfect balance of accessibility and tranquility that’s hard to find in Hong Kong. The service feels personal without being intrusive, and honestly, the value proposition is solid for what you get. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, EAST Hong Kong manages to feel both professional and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when you’re dealing with the intensity of this city.

Guest Reviews
Pool is also nice and clean and breakfast was amazing!
I am also very satisfied with my harborview room, it is classy and spacious, the view was breathtaking as well. The EAST Hotel overall has very nice interior designs, it is stylish, homely but dignified, typical of all Taikoo establishments. It is funny but I was blown away by the interior design of the male washroom at FEAST (restaurant of EAST), it is quite breathtaking.
I booked FEAST and SUGAR (rooftop bar) for dinner and after-dinner drinks. I particularly enjoyed the semi-buffet at FEAST, the food was excellent. I liked the all-you-can-eat fresh oysters and my braised short ribs main dish which was so full of flavor. I also liked SUGAR, the cocktails there are nice and the bar is very chill, plus the view their is excellent too.
I further want to give a shoutout to how convenient it is for me to go to Taikoo Plaza from EAST. It is just a footbridge away. This is quite wonderful as I can spend a whole day at Taikoo Plaza and return to the hotel without any need to brace the elements. When I was staying at the hotel, most of the time the weather was pretty bad; so I particularly appreciated how conveniently located EAST was.
Overall, 5/5 stars experience and would definitely recommend anyone to visit.
